Description

Veuve Clicquot Rosé is a benchmark Champagne that combines the House’s signature richness with bright red-fruit charm and a refined, elegant finish. Crafted from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, it offers both structure and freshness, making it an appealing choice for celebrations and special occasions. Rooted in one of Champagne’s most historic maisons, it reflects the enduring style and savoir-faire of Veuve Clicquot.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a delicate salmon-pink hue with lively bubbles and a polished, inviting appearance. The nose is expressive, with aromas of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and subtle floral and brioche notes. On the palate, it is generous and silky, balancing juicy red berries with crisp citrus, a hint of spice, and a long, dry finish. The wine has the balance and structure to age gracefully for a few years, though it is best enjoyed while its fruit remains vibrant.

Production
Sourced from Champagne, where chalky soils and a cool climate bring finesse, tension, and aromatic precision, the blend is built around Pinot Noir for depth and character, supported by Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay for freshness and harmony. Veuve Clicquot is known for its meticulous blending and use of reserve wines to maintain a consistent house style, while the rosé expression is traditionally crafted to add color, complexity, and fruit intensity. The result is a Champagne that is both classic and instantly approachable.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C. It pairs beautifully with smoked salmon, tuna tartare, roast chicken, duck breast, berry desserts, and fresh strawberries, and also works well as an aperitif. Decanting is not recommended for Champagne; instead, open carefully and pour into tulip-shaped flutes or white wine glasses to let the aromas open up.

Producer
Veuve Clicquot is one of Champagne’s most iconic houses, founded in 1772 and shaped by the remarkable vision of Madame Clicquot, who helped define the modern style of Champagne. The estate is widely respected for its pioneering spirit, including major advances in blending and clarity techniques, and for producing wines with a distinctive, full-bodied house character. Today, it remains one of the region’s most recognized and admired producers, known around the world for quality and consistency.

The rosé champagne you can’t go wrong with; it can easily be used for more than just an aperitif.
I myself had the pleasure of drinking it with a 10-course menu in England, which was really delightful with all the fish on the menu.
