Son of a high-yielding 1986 vintage. I studied hospitality management at a university of applied sciences and completed my WSET qualifications at school. After graduation, I attended the Finnish sommelier school for a specialist vocational qualification. I fell in love with wine at quite a young age when I realized that all the subjects that fascinate me can be found in a bottle of wine. Humanities and natural science, history and geography in particular.
I have worked in the hospitality scene for the past twenty years and as a somm for the past fifteen. I started working as head sommelier at Savoy Helsinki in 2015 and am still part of the team, but now serve as group head sommelier for Financier Group Oy. A small restaurant cluster operating in Helsinki, running 4 operations and wine import.
I also run a wine consulting operation as a hobby and work with different restaurants and private collectors.
A lover of all good wine, a passionate football fan, and a family man.
