Château de Beaucastel’s 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a concentrated, Mourvèdre-marked expression of one of the Rhône’s most celebrated appellations. Made in a difficult vintage, it stands out for its dark-fruited depth, savoury complexity and polished finish. The estate is known for its longstanding tradition of working with all 13 grape varieties permitted in the appellation.

Tasting Notes
The supplied tasting notes emphasise the wine’s aromas and palate rather than its appearance. Ripe black cherry and plum lead on the nose and palate, joined by truffle, tree bark, crushed stone and a touch of dark chocolate. Full-bodied and richly concentrated, it is carried by gentle tannins into a long, velvety finish with lingering liquorice and dark-fruit notes. Its concentration and structure suggest potential to develop in the cellar, though no specific drinking window is provided.
