Tasting Notes
The wine shows a luminous golden hue in the glass. Its bouquet is layered and vivid, with citrus peel, gooseberry, and a cool maritime note that recalls fresh sea air. On the palate, it feels almost textural and lightly oily, yet remains beautifully agile. Notes of citrus, cantaloupe, almond, and crushed stone give it both richness and drive, finishing with a long, lively freshness. It should drink well now and has the structure to develop nuance over the next several years.

Sanford & Benedict Vineyard sits in the Sta. Rita Hills, where the cool coastal climate and distinctive soils create ideal conditions for Chardonnay with intensity and finesse. Grapes are harvested with care from this highly regarded site, then vinified to preserve both ripe fruit character and the vineyard’s naturally mineral edge, with measured oak contributing depth without overwhelming the wine.
