Description

Weingut Wittmann’s 2023 Weißer Burgunder Reserve shows the depth and precision Pinot Blanc can achieve in Rheinhessen. Made from carefully selected fruit from Westhofen’s top vineyards, predominantly Steingrube, it combines concentrated fruit and measured oak with a distinctly limestone-shaped regional character.

Tasting Notes
The nose is described as complex, with ripe pear among its aromas; the wine’s extended lees ageing and restrained oak élevage add further depth and a fine woody impression. Detailed notes on its appearance, palate and ageing potential were not provided.

Production
The grapes come from outstanding parcels in Westhofen, with most of the fruit sourced from the renowned Steingrube site. Strong yield reduction, careful hand harvesting and rigorous selection help preserve quality. The wine is aged for at least 15 months on its full lees in traditional half-piece casks and barriques, building texture and structure while retaining clarity. It is produced organically.
