Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear, bright profile with a focused and youthful appearance. The nose is lifted and expressive, offering peach, apple, citrus, and a delicate white pepper note, all underpinned by a cool stony minerality. On the palate, the wine is linear and concentrated, with crisp acidity, clean fruit, and a dry, mouthwatering finish that keeps you coming back for another sip. Thanks to the old-vine fruit and the inherently ageworthy structure of Steinriegl, it should develop gracefully over the next several years, gaining further complexity and texture.

Production
Steinriegl is a renowned Wachau site known for its mineral, calcareous soils and cooler hillside exposure, both of which are especially well suited to Riesling. Prager’s parcels are planted with old vines ranging from 30 to 70 years of age, and the grapes are harvested entirely by hand to preserve fruit integrity and vineyard expression. Vinification is gentle and traditional, carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by seven months of additional aging in steel and two months of bottle maturation before release.

Food & Serving
This Riesling is a superb match for freshwater fish, sushi, light seafood dishes, asparagus, salads, and mildly spicy Asian cuisine. Serve it well chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not necessary, though allowing it a few minutes in the glass can help its aromatics open beautifully.
