Weingut Ökonomierat Rebholz Riesling Ganz Horn Großes Gewächs is a precise, dry Riesling from one of the Pfalz’s most distinctive sites. Since 2007, the Ganz Horn parcel has been vinified separately as a Großes Gewächs, allowing its cool, mineral character and purist expression to stand apart within the Rebholz portfolio.

Tasting Notes
The wine is bright and clear in appearance, with an elegant, focused profile. Its nose combines white peach, ripe grapefruit and finely lifted citrus aromas with subtle lees character and fresh herbal notes reminiscent of coriander. A pronounced saline-mineral impression, evocative of wet stones, gives the wine its characteristic sense of place. On the palate, Ganz Horn is cool, energetic and finely structured, balancing vibrant Riesling acidity with a concentrated, dry finish. The texture is precise rather than opulent, with citrus, stone fruit and mineral flavours unfolding gradually. It is already compelling in its youth, but its depth and acidity should allow it to develop beautifully over the next decade or more.

Production
The vines grow in the upper section of the Im Sonnenschein vineyard, on a slope marked by scree, gravel, variegated sandstone, clay and sand—an especially distinctive combination compared with the neighbouring parcels of Muschelkalk. The grapes are selectively harvested and handled with the precision expected of a Großes Gewächs, before being vinified separately to preserve the site’s clarity, freshness and mineral character.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 10–12°C. This Riesling is an excellent partner for grilled or poached fish, shellfish, sushi, roast poultry and dishes featuring fresh herbs. Its saline depth also works particularly well with asparagus, lightly spiced Asian cuisine and mature goat’s cheese. Decanting is not essential, but 20–30 minutes in a decanter can help reveal additional layers when the wine is young.
