Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a brilliant golden to deep amber hue, reflecting both its concentration and bottle age. The nose is expressive and layered, with notes of candied citrus, ripe stone fruit, honey, orange peel, and a subtle mineral lift that is characteristic of great Mosel wines. On the palate, it is intensely sweet yet beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity, giving the wine energy and length rather than heaviness. Expect flavours of apricot nectar, quince, tropical fruit, and citrus marmalade, finishing with a clean, crystalline mineral edge. Production
The wine comes from the steep, slate-rich Wehlener Klosterberg vineyard in the Mosel, one of the region’s most admired sites for Riesling. The cool climate and mineral soils are ideal for producing wines with finesse and tension, while Eiswein production requires grapes to remain on the vine until frozen naturally, allowing only the concentrated, pure juice to be pressed from the frozen berries. Harvesting is done in the early morning at sub-zero temperatures, making it one of the most demanding and selective winemaking processes.

Food & Serving
Best served well chilled, around 6–8°C, this wine is a superb match for fruit-based desserts, tarte Tatin, crème brûlée, blue cheese, or simply enjoyed on its own as a contemplative after-dinner wine. Decanting is not usually necessary; if opened for a special occasion, allow it a little time in the glass to fully раскры its aromatics.
