Weingut Hiedler Riesling Maximum 2022 is a pure expression of Kamptal Riesling at its highest level, made from the best fruit on the estate’s finest old-vine sites. Crafted by Kellermeister Ludwig Hiedler, it combines precision, depth, and a strong sense of place, showing why Hiedler is regarded as one of Austria’s most respected producers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine is crystal clear with a pale golden sheen. The nose is intense and inviting, offering white peach, green apple, lime, citrus blossom, and a subtle wet-stone minerality. On the palate it is crisp, energetic, and tightly focused, balancing ripe fruit with vibrant acidity and a long, mineral finish. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, and while it is already beautifully expressive, it should gain even more complexity over the next several years.

Production
The grapes come from old vines on steep, sun-drenched slopes in Kamptal, where calcareous and loess-rich soils lend the wine its distinctive mineral backbone and depth. The fruit is harvested by hand and carefully sorted before undergoing slow fermentation in stainless steel to preserve freshness, precision, and purity of aroma.

Food & Serving
This Riesling pairs especially well with seafood, grilled white fish, shellfish, sushi, Asian dishes with a touch of spice, and light poultry preparations. Serve chilled at around 8-10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short time in the glass can help the wine open further.
