Weingut Hiedler Pinot Noir Mineral 2023 is a finely poised Austrian Pinot Noir that shows just how well the cool Kamptal climate suits this demanding grape. Elegant, mineral-driven and quietly expressive, it combines red-fruited purity with the signature finesse that has made Austrian Pinot Noir increasingly admired.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the translucent, graceful colour typical of Pinot Noir. The nose is beautifully refined, with red cherries, red currants and violets leading the way. On the palate, those same red berry notes are joined by blueberry, marzipan and a delicate thread of spice, all carried by a polished, energetic structure. The finish is impressively long and the wine should age gracefully over the next few years, gaining further complexity and softness.

Production
The grapes come from steep vineyards outside the town of Langenlois in Kamptal, where the cool climate and mineral soils provide ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. The fruit is harvested by hand, fully destemmed, and vinified with no added sulfur before spending 12 months in small oak barrels, 20% of which are new.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile Pinot Noir that works especially well with roasted duck, poussin, mushroom dishes, veal or lightly spiced game. Serve slightly cool at around 14-16°C, and consider a short decant if serving young to help the aromatics open up.
