Tasting Notes
Deep, concentrated ruby in the glass, this vintage opens with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, cedar, graphite, tobacco leaf, and subtle Mediterranean herbs. There is also a refined mineral edge that reflects the vineyard’s character and keeps the bouquet lifted and focused. On the palate, Mas La Plana 2019 is elegant yet firmly structured, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and impressive depth. The wine feels concentrated without heaviness, delivering dark fruit, spice, earthy complexity, and a long, polished finish. It is already approachable for its balance, but it has excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade or more.

Production
Mas La Plana comes from Torres’s historic vineyard in Catalonia, where Cabernet Sauvignon has long been cultivated in well-drained soils that help preserve freshness and concentration. The vintage was marked by a very dry growing season and warmer-than-average conditions, but cooling temperatures before harvest allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and retain natural acidity. The fruit is harvested carefully by parcel, with fermentation carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve purity and precision. The wine is then matured in oak to add structure and complexity while keeping the fruit expression clear and focused.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, beef tenderloin, or slow-cooked dishes with herbs and dark sauces. It also pairs well with aged Manchego or other firm, nutty cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if drinking young to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.
