Tasting Notes
In the glass, La Villa 2023 shows a bright ruby-red color with youthful energy. The nose is fresh and lifted, with red cherry, raspberry, violet, and subtle spice, followed by hints of herbs and a faint earthy edge. On the palate, it is lively and supple, with the juicy fruit of Barbera balanced by the structure and aromatic complexity of Nebbiolo. The wine is medium-bodied, with crisp acidity, fine tannins, and a clean, food-friendly finish. While delicious young, it should also hold well for a few years, gaining extra harmony and depth.

Production
Sourced from vineyards in the Langhe, where clay- and limestone-rich soils help preserve freshness and give the wine its mineral backbone, this blend reflects the character of Piedmont’s rolling hills. The grapes are typically harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, then vinified with a focus on purity, balance, and gentle extraction to retain the varietal expression of both Barbera and Nebbiolo.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for antipasti, cured meats, pasta with tomato-based sauces, mushroom dishes, roast chicken, and grilled veal. Serve it slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and decanting is not essential, though a short aeration can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.
