Contratto Alta Langa Millesimato Pas Dosé 2022 is an organic vintage sparkling wine that showcases the finesse and energy of Piedmont’s Alta Langa. Crafted in the traditional method from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, it reflects Contratto’s long-standing role as one of Italy’s pioneers of sparkling wine since 1867.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright golden-yellow colour with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is elegant and restrained, with delicate notes of lemon zest, acacia honey, and lightly toasted wild strawberries. On the palate, it is lively, precise, and refreshingly saline, balanced by a pleasing creamy texture. The extended lees ageing of at least 48 months adds depth and complexity, while the long finish and refined perlage suggest excellent ageing potential for those who enjoy mature, structured sparkling wine.

Production
Made in Alta Langa in Piedmont, this organic Pas Dosé cuvée is produced from carefully selected Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown in the region’s cool, elevated vineyards. The wine is made using the classic method and aged on the lees in bottle for a minimum of 48 months, a process that builds texture, complexity, and a more layered expression of the terroir.

This is a versatile sparkling wine for refined food pairings such as oysters, shellfish, sushi, creamy risotto, fried seafood, or delicate white meats. Serve well chilled, ideally around 6–8°C, and there is no need for decanting.
