Terre Nere Etna Rosso 2024

Terre Nere Etna Rosso is a beautifully expressive organic red from the northern slopes of Mount Etna, one of Sicily’s most distinctive wine regions. Made predominantly from Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio, it captures the smoky elegance, freshness, and volcanic character that have made Etna Rosso a modern benchmark for refined Italian reds.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby-red color. The nose opens with ripe red fruit and sweet spice, layered with a subtle mineral, volcanic nuance that gives the wine its sense of place. On the palate, it is balanced and finely textured, with good intensity, vibrant freshness, and impressive finesse. The wine feels poised rather than heavy, with the structure to develop further over the next few years and gain added depth and complexity.

Production
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards on Etna’s northern slopes, at an altitude of roughly 600 to 900 meters above sea level, where cooler conditions and volcanic soils help preserve acidity and aromatic precision. Harvest is followed by alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25–28°C, and the wine is then matured in large French oak casks of 10–30 hl, allowing the fruit and terroir to remain at the forefront.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food wine that pairs well with roast poultry, grilled lamb, mushroom dishes, pasta with ragù, and Sicilian-inspired cuisine. Serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and decant briefly if you want to soften the wine and open up its aromas.
