Description

Made in a tiny run of around 2,000 bottles, Terralibera’s Da Solo is a rare, single-parcel expression of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore. Its hillside vineyard and hands-on approach give the 2022 vintage a distinctive sense of place, balancing ripe fruit with lively acidity and a saline, mineral finish.

Tasting Notes
The nose is restrained at first, with delicate acacia blossom followed by white peach, white currant and pink grapefruit. On the palate, soft fruit richness meets brisk, well-balanced acidity, while a saline, chalky mineral character gives the wine structure and definition. Savoury, spicy nuances add further complexity.

Production
The grapes come from a 1.38-hectare single parcel on the highest point of a hill, with a north-west exposure. The vineyard is currently transitioning to organic farming. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously; the wine then spends six months on its fine lees in stainless steel, followed by a further six months in bottle before release.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, with grilled fish, seafood, roast chicken or vegetable dishes featuring herbs and citrus. Its fresh acidity and saline character also suit local cheeses and simple pasta dishes. Decanting is not essential; a short spell of air in the glass can help reveal its more savoury nuances.
