Tasting Notes
In the glass, Teuto shows a deep ruby color that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose is expressive and layered, with blackberry, cherry, and plum at the forefront, followed by subtle floral violet notes, coffee, and warm spice. The palate is dry, full-flavored, and well-balanced, with fine, elegant tannins guiding the wine toward a long, persistent finish. Fruit remains vivid throughout, supported by a harmonious texture and enough structure to develop gracefully over the next several years.

Production
Teuto is produced at Tenuta Podernovo in the Pisan Hills, where the vineyards grow on silty clay soils rich in fossils, contributing to the wine’s distinctive structure and depth. Farming is organic, with precision viticulture used to select the best bunches and maintain very low yields for greater concentration. Vinification begins with a cold pre-maceration to preserve aromatics, followed by fermentation and around twenty days of maceration; the wine then spends 18 months aging, with Sangiovese in large casks and Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in small oak barrels, before at least six months of bottle aging.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted red meats, game, braised dishes, and rich pasta with meat ragù, as well as aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C; decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if the bottle is opened young, to let the aromatics and structure fully unfold.
