Description

Tenuta Tascante’s Contrada Pianodario is a single-site Etna Rosso that captures the freshness and volcanic character of Sicily’s Mount Etna. Made from Nerello Mascalese, it reflects the growing attention paid to the mountain’s individual vineyard sites and their distinct expressions.

Tasting Notes
The wine is typically bright ruby to garnet in colour, with aromas of red cherry and wild berries alongside hints of dried herbs, spice and stony earth. On the palate, expect lively acidity, fine-grained tannins and a savoury, mineral finish. Its structure and freshness should reward careful cellaring for several years, though the precise ageing window depends on storage conditions and personal taste.

Production
Contrada Pianodario lies on Etna, where elevation and volcanic soils help give Nerello Mascalese its characteristic freshness and savoury edge. The wine is made from the variety, but harvest, fermentation and maturation details for the 2020 vintage are not available here.

Food & Serving
