Tasting Notes
Deep, opaque ruby in the glass, the wine opens with an evolving aromatic profile of cassis, blackberry, raspberry, and black cherry, lifted by dried rose petals and ripe plum. The nose is highly detailed and changing, revealing new layers with air. On the palate, it is sweet, plush, and full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit, boysenberry, and cassis wrapped in a smooth, glycerol-rich texture. Despite its opulence, it retains impressive balance and lightness of touch, finishing long and polished with serious depth behind the fruit. This vintage has excellent aging potential and should reward extended cellaring over many years.

Production
Made in Portugal’s Douro Valley, Taylor’s Vintage Port 2011 comes from steep, schist-rich vineyards that are perfectly suited to producing concentrated, long-lived Port. The grapes are traditionally harvested by hand, with careful selection to ensure only the best fruit is used for vintage bottling. Vinification follows classic Port methods, with fermentation stopped by the addition of grape spirit to preserve natural sweetness and intensify structure, after which the wine is aged before release as a declared Vintage Port.

Food & Serving
This Port pairs beautifully with blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts, roasted nuts, or simply enjoyed on its own after a meal. Serve slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and decant before drinking to remove sediment and allow the wine’s aromatic complexity to fully open. For a young Vintage Port like this, decanting several hours in advance is recommended.
