Description

Château Talbot 2019 is a polished Saint-Julien classified as a Fourth Growth in the famed 1855 Bordeaux classification, offering the depth and structure collectors expect from this classic Left Bank estate. Known for its reliable quality and elegant balance, it combines Cabernet-driven refinement with the generous, approachable style that has made Talbot a longtime favorite among Bordeaux lovers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine typically shows a deep ruby color with youthful purple tones. The nose is expressive and refined, with layers of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, graphite, tobacco leaf, and subtle floral and spice notes that reflect its Saint-Julien origins. On the palate, Château Talbot 2019 is expected to be medium-to-full-bodied, with firm but polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, structured finish. Its balance of ripe fruit, savory complexity, and classic Bordeaux architecture suggests excellent aging potential, likely unfolding beautifully over the next 10–20 years and beyond.

Production
Talbot is located in Saint-Julien, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravel soils provide excellent drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon ripen with precision and aromatic depth. The 2019 vintage benefited from a warm growing season that supported full phenolic maturity, while preserving the freshness that defines the appellation. Winemaking at Talbot generally emphasizes careful parcel selection, controlled fermentation, and maturation in French oak to preserve purity, structure, and the estate’s signature elegance.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and rich mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Gouda. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young, to allow the wine to open and soften.

Producer
Château Talbot is one of Saint-Julien’s most respected estates and has long held its place as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 Classification. The property has built a reputation for producing dependable, classically styled Bordeaux with both charm and age-worthiness. Over time, Talbot has become especially admired for its consistency, making it a benchmark name for the appellation.
