Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine is deep, nearly black-red, reflecting its concentration and intensity. The bouquet is refined and layered, with notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, tobacco, spice, and a touch of vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet beautifully balanced, with ripe fruit framed by fresh acidity and finely woven tannins. Silky in texture but powerful in presence, it finishes long and persistent, with impressive depth and a polished, elegant feel. While already impressive in its youth, this vintage has excellent aging potential and should evolve beautifully over time.

Production
The grapes come from Spottswoode’s own estate vineyards in Napa Valley, where careful vineyard stewardship has long been central to the estate’s philosophy. The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon (87%), with Cabernet Franc (9%) and Petit Verdot (4%) adding complexity, structure, and aromatic detail. After harvest and fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, which help shape its layered character and refined structure.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, beef tenderloin, or rich mushroom-based dishes. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opening young to help the wine fully раскры its aromatics and structure.
