Blending traditional Douro grapes such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca, it offers a beautifully matured expression of Portugal’s most iconic fortified wine style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this tawny Port typically shows a deep amber to mahogany hue with golden-edged reflections that speak to its long barrel aging. The nose is intensely layered, with aromas of dried figs, walnuts, caramelized citrus peel, toasted almonds, spice, and subtle notes of coffee and old wood. On the palate, it is silky, concentrated, and remarkably balanced, with flavors of dried fruit, honeyed toffee, roasted nuts, and warm baking spice unfolding over a long, elegant finish. Its acidity keeps the wine vibrant despite its age, and while it is ready to enjoy now, a 50 year old Tawny is prized more for immediate pleasure than further cellaring.

Production
Produced in the Douro, one of the world’s most dramatic and historic wine regions, this Port draws on steep vineyard terraces and schist-rich soils that help concentrate flavor in the grapes. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca are traditionally harvested by hand, then vinified according to Port winemaking methods before long maturation in seasoned wooden casks, where slow oxidation develops the wine’s signature tawny complexity.

Food & Serving
Sequeirinha 50 Year Old Tawny is an excellent match for nut tarts, crème brûlée, almond cake, dried fruit desserts, or simply served on its own as a contemplative after-dinner wine. It is best enjoyed slightly chilled, around 12–14°C, and does not require decanting.
