Sourced from one of the region’s most expressive subzones, it offers a more lifted, mineral style of Nebbiolo shaped by steep alpine vineyards and long local tradition.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a translucent ruby colour with garnet highlights, reflecting both the grape and its careful élevage. The nose is precise and nuanced, with aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, dried rose, alpine herbs, spice and a subtle earthy note. On the palate, it is firm yet graceful, with bright acidity, fine-grained tannins and a savoury mineral core that gives the wine length and definition. The finish is persistent and lightly aromatic, and while it is approachable with air, this Riserva has the structure to develop beautifully over several years, gaining complexity and tertiary depth.

Production
This wine comes from the Valgella subzone of Valtellina Superiore, where steep terraced vineyards, poor alpine soils and strong diurnal shifts help produce wines of freshness and finesse. The Nebbiolo vineyards are typically farmed with great care due to the demanding mountain terrain, and harvesting is usually done by hand to preserve fruit integrity. Vinification focuses on expressing purity and structure, with careful maceration and ageing designed to support the wine’s natural tension and aromatic detail.

A great match for braised meats, roast duck, mushroom dishes, game, aged cheeses and traditional northern Italian cuisine such as pizzoccheri or risotto with porcini. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if the wine is enjoyed in its youth.
