The nose is especially expressive, with vivid plum fruit layered with baking chocolate, pepper spice, iron, caramel, pastry crust, anise, tea leaf, soy, menthol, and black olive, all lifted by a subtle green-herbal edge that adds complexity rather than aggression. Production
Sassicaia 2018 comes from the coastal hills of Bolgheri in Tuscany, where the vineyards benefit from a distinctive combination of maritime influence, cool winds, and well-drained soils. The growing season began cool and wet before turning warm and dry ahead of harvest, allowing Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to reach full, nuanced ripeness. Careful vinification preserves the wine’s crystalline clarity, freshness, and finely tuned structure.

Food & Serving
This is a superb wine for refined dishes such as grilled or roasted beef, lamb, venison, truffle-based pasta, and braised game birds. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and richly seasoned Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at 16–18°C and, if possible, decant for 1–2 hours to allow the aromatics and structure to fully open.
