Rivers-Marie Silver Eagle Pinot Noir 2022 is a striking single-vineyard Pinot Noir that captures the finesse and aromatic lift Thomas Rivers Brown is known for. Harvested early in a Burgundy-inspired style, it emphasizes site expression over sheer ripeness, making it a vivid, terroir-driven California Pinot Noir with real character.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the translucent elegance typical of top Pinot Noir, with a bright, polished ruby hue. The bouquet is especially expressive, opening with sweet red cherries and layered notes of spice, earth, mint, cedar, fresh tobacco, and black tea leaves. The palate is wonderfully intense yet beautifully balanced, delivering raspberry, blackberry, cherry cola, orange peel, and a subtle thread of black tea. It has the structure and precision to age gracefully over the next several years, gaining further depth and nuance with time.

Production
Fruit from Silver Eagle Vineyard is picked early to preserve freshness, tension, and vineyard character rather than pursuing overripe fruit. Nearly all of the clusters are destemmed before fermentation, with native yeast used to guide a more transparent and site-specific expression. The wine is then matured in oak barrels with only 20% new oak, allowing the fruit and terroir to remain front and center.

This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roasted duck, grilled salmon, wild mushroom dishes, herb-roasted chicken, or pork tenderloin. Serve slightly chilled at around 15–16°C, and consider a gentle decant for 20–30 minutes if you want the aromatics to open up even more.
