Realm Beckstoffer Dr. Crane 2022 is a striking single-vineyard Napa Cabernet built on fruit from one of St. Helena’s most revered sites. Crafted by winemaker Benoit Touguette from the historic Dr. Crane Vineyard—first planted in 1858—it brings together pedigree, concentration, and serious cellar-worthy structure.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the deep, inky color you’d expect from a wine of this stature. The nose is richly layered with blackberry liqueur, dark chocolate, fresh tobacco, tar, and warm spice. The palate is powerful and full-bodied, with dense Cabernet fruit wrapped around notes of licorice, pencil lead, and crushed stone. Petit Verdot adds an extra edge of depth and structure, while the wine’s firm frame suggests excellent aging potential; given a few more years in bottle, it should unfold beautifully and gain even more complexity.

Production
This wine comes from the legendary Dr. Crane Vineyard in St. Helena, one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated single sites and a benchmark property under the stewardship of Andy Beckstoffer. The vineyard’s old-vine heritage and prime location contribute exceptional fruit intensity and finesse. Composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, it is made in a style designed for long-term aging and maximum expression of the vineyard.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb rack, or truffle-infused dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to let the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
