Realm’s Beckstoffer Dr. Crane 2018 is a striking single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated sites. Sourced from the historic Dr. Crane Vineyard in St. Helena and crafted by winemaker Benoit Touguette, it combines exceptional fruit with a pedigree that dates back to 1858.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the deep, concentrated color you expect from top-tier Napa Cabernet. The nose opens with blackberry liqueur, dark chocolate, fresh tobacco, tar, and warm spices, all layered with impressive purity and intensity. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, echoing the dark-fruit and chocolate notes while adding accents of licorice, pencil lead, and crushed stone. Firm structure and concentration suggest excellent aging potential, and while it is already compelling, it should gain even greater complexity over the next 2–3 years and continue evolving beautifully for many years beyond.

This wine comes from the Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, a revered site in St. Helena originally planted in 1858 by Dr. George Belden Crane and now managed by Andy Beckstoffer. The 2018 blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, reflecting Napa Valley terroir at its finest with fruit selected for depth, balance, and longevity. Crafted with a clear focus on age-worthiness, it is built to deliver both intensity and refinement over time.

Food & Serving
Serve this Cabernet with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb chops, or a classic beef tenderloin. It is best enjoyed at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine’s layers of fruit, spice, and graphite to open up fully.
