Real Companhia Velha Royal Oporto 10 Years is a refined aged Port that showcases the depth and elegance the Douro is famous for. Blending Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional, it offers a classic balance of richness, complexity, and polished sweetness with the added nuance that comes from extended cask ageing.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep tawny-garnet colour with amber highlights from years in wood. The nose is layered and inviting, with notes of dried figs, raisins, toasted nuts, caramel, orange peel, and warm spice, alongside subtle hints of wood and honey. On the palate, it is silky and well-rounded, combining concentrated dried fruit flavours with toffee, roasted almond, and a gentle oxidative complexity. The sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity, giving the wine lift and definition. Thanks to its ten years of ageing, it already offers excellent harmony and can continue to hold well for some time after opening if properly recorked.

Production
Produced in the Douro, one of the world’s most dramatic and historic wine regions, this Port draws on old-vine expertise and the steep schist soils that define the area. The grapes are typically harvested by hand to preserve quality, then vinified using traditional Port methods with controlled fermentation before fortification with grape spirit to retain natural sweetness. The wine is then aged in oak casks for a decade, allowing gradual oxidation and concentration to develop its signature complexity.

Food & Serving
Ideal with almond tart, crème brûlée, dried fruit desserts, dark chocolate, or a simple plate of blue cheese and walnuts. Serve slightly chilled, around 14–16°C, to keep the wine fresh and expressive. Decanting is generally not necessary, though allowing the bottle to breathe briefly after opening can help the aromas open up.
