Quinta Santa Eufemia’s Vintage Port 2016 is a richly concentrated Port with serious depth, made from a classic blend of 70% Touriga Nacional and 30% Tinta Roriz. Sourced from the estate’s finest parcels in the Douro, it captures the intensity, structure, and age-worthy power that define top Vintage Port, while remaining balanced and beautifully expressive.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, almost black core that hints at its concentration and youthful vigor. The nose is highly expressive, offering dark plums, black cherries, liquorice, and a subtle backdrop of schist and gentle oak. On the palate, the wine is creamy and full-bodied, with layers of ripe black fruit, firm, tightly knit tannins, and vibrant acidity that keeps everything in balance. This is a Vintage Port with excellent aging potential, likely to develop further complexity over many years in bottle.

Production
This Vintage Port is made from grapes selected from the estate’s best plots, chosen for their naturally high flavor intensity and tannin concentration. Those qualities provide the powerful raw material needed for a true Vintage Port, and the wine is aged for two years in traditional 550-liter Port casks before bottling.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed as a contemplative after-dinner wine, this Port pairs wonderfully with blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts, nut tart, or simply a quiet moment on its own. Serve slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and decant before serving to remove sediment and allow the aromas to open. Once opened, it should be consumed the same day, or at the latest the next day.
