Prunotto Monferrato Mompertone 2024 is a richly styled red from Piedmont that brings together the freshness of Barbera and the depth of Syrah in a polished, modern blend. Born from the Antinori family’s long-standing passion for the Langhe, it reflects the character of a historic wine region positioned between Barbaresco and Barolo, while offering its own distinctive personality.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color with subtle purple reflections. The nose is generous and fruit-driven, with notes of plum and cherry lifted by violets, spice, and a touch of coffee. On the palate, it is enveloping and full-bodied, with a rich texture and soft, elegant tannins that linger pleasantly on the finish. The balance of ripe fruit and structure suggests good drinking now, with enough depth to hold its shape well over the next few years.

Production
This wine comes from Piedmont in northwestern Italy, where the soils and climate of the Monferrato area help preserve freshness while allowing the grapes to reach full ripeness. The fruit is harvested, fully destemmed and crushed, then macerated for around seven days at 28–30°C to extract color and flavor. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for approximately 12 months before bottling.

Prunotto Monferrato Mompertone 2024 pairs beautifully with roasted meats, grilled sausages, lamb, rich pasta dishes, and mature cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C to bring out its aromatic complexity, and consider decanting briefly if you want the fruit and spice to open up more in the glass.
