Tasting Notes
Expect a pale, luminous wine with the tension and definition that make Wachau Riesling so compelling. Production
Achleiten is a steep, terraced vineyard in the Wachau, with rocky, mineral-rich soils and strong sun exposure that help produce Rieslings of intensity and lifted structure. The site’s demanding terrain encourages low yields and naturally concentrated fruit, while the cool influence of the Danube helps preserve freshness and balance. Prager’s approach is precise and restrained, aiming to let the character of the vineyard lead. The fruit is harvested by hand and vinified to emphasize clarity, texture, and site expression, resulting in a wine that is powerful but never heavy.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for refined seafood such as lobster, scallops, oysters, or roast turbot, as well as sushi and sashimi, Thai or Vietnamese dishes with a gentle spicy edge, and rich poultry or veal preparations. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if drinking young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
