Tasting Notes
In the glass, Galatrona 2015 shows a deep, dark ruby-red color that hints at its intensity and concentration. Production
Galatrona is produced by Petrolo in Tuscany, where the estate works with a natural-minded approach that respects the balance of the vineyard. Rather than relying on synthetic or organic fertilizers, the team encourages natural ground cover and lets grass grow freely to help manage soil nutrients and moisture. The result is a Merlot of exceptional precision and character, shaped by careful vineyard stewardship and a winemaking philosophy focused on expressing the estate’s most refined fruit.

Food & Serving
Galatrona 2015 pairs beautifully with richly flavored dishes such as roasted beef, lamb, game, truffle pasta, or aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting it for at least 1–2 hours to allow its depth and complexity to unfold fully.

Petrolo has been a cult name in Tuscany since the mid-1990s, when the estate came into focus under Luca Sanjust’s vision. What began as a producer of more traditional Chianti evolved into one of the region’s elite wineries, thanks to a clear commitment to quality and a strong sense of identity. Today Petrolo is especially known for its iconic Galatrona and the Sangiovese-based Torrione, and the estate continues to collect high praise from major international critics such as James Suckling and Robert Parker.
