Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby colour with vivid purple reflections, hinting at its youthful energy and concentration. The nose is layered and inviting, with notes of cassis, black cherry, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral and toasted oak nuances. On the palate, the wine is structured yet elegant, with firm Pauillac tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of dark berry fruit balanced by mineral and spicy complexity. The 2018 vintage lends both richness and precision, suggesting very good ageing potential over the next decade or more.

Production
Produced in the gravelly soils of Pauillac, Pedesclaux benefits from a terroir that is ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, with excellent drainage and natural heat retention. The grapes are carefully harvested and vinified parcel by parcel to preserve the character of each plot, with traditional Bordeaux techniques used to extract colour, texture, and aromatic complexity before ageing in oak barrels.

Food & Serving
This Pauillac is an excellent match for roast lamb, ribeye steak, duck breast, game, and mushroom-based dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C; decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if drinking young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
