Muri-Gries Alto Adige Gewürztraminer 2024 is a beautifully expressive white wine from one of South Tyrol’s most respected cellar cooperatives. Known for its aromatic intensity and regional character, it reflects the cool Alpine climate and the long tradition of quality winemaking in Alto Adige.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright straw-yellow color with golden reflections. The nose is intensely fragrant, with classic Gewürztraminer notes of rose petals, lychee, ripe peach, exotic spices, and a delicate hint of citrus peel. On the palate, it is full-bodied and aromatic, yet usually balanced by fresh acidity that keeps it lively and food-friendly. Expect ripe stone fruit, floral notes, and a subtle spicy finish. While many Gewürztraminers are best enjoyed young for their freshness and perfume, wines from Alto Adige can also develop added complexity over a few years in bottle.

Production
The grapes come from Alto Adige, where cool nights, sunny days, and well-drained mountain soils help preserve freshness while encouraging aromatic ripeness. Harvesting is typically carried out carefully at optimal ripeness to protect the variety’s delicate perfume, followed by gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation to retain the wine’s signature floral and spicy character.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile partner for aromatic Asian cuisine, mildly spiced dishes, shellfish, rich pâtés, and flavorful soft cheeses. It also works well with roasted poultry and dishes featuring ginger or saffron. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not usually necessary.
