Parussi is a prized cru in the commune of Castiglione Falletto, benefitting from a protected position in the heart of the Barolo appellation. Here, Nebbiolo vines grow on calcareous clay and limestone-rich soils that lend both structure and an unmistakable, cooling mineral edge to the wine. The 2017 season was challenging, with episodes of frost and summer heat, but the site’s advantageous exposure and well-drained soils allowed the fruit to ripen evenly while retaining freshness. Grapes are typically harvested by hand, with rigorous selection in the vineyard and at the winery to ensure only perfectly ripe, healthy clusters are used.
