Tasting Notes
In the glass, Les Crestes 2023 shows a bright, expressive ruby-red colour. The nose is lifted and fragrant, with ripe red cherries, plums, lavender, and rose petals layered over subtle notes of liquorice, granite, and dried thyme. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with energetic freshness, supple tannins, and a finely judged mineral edge that gives the wine shape and lift. It finishes clean and gently saline, making it immediately appealing now, though it should also hold nicely for a few years.

Production
Les Crestes comes from young vines planted on the steep llicorella slate soils around Poboleda in Priorat, where altitude and poor, rocky terroir help preserve freshness and concentration. Yields are kept low, and the fruit is harvested with care before being fermented at controlled temperatures with gentle extraction. The wine then matures for 8–10 months in French oak barrels, with only a small proportion new, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the wine’s lively energy.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roast chicken, pork with herbs, tapas, or Mediterranean dishes featuring tomatoes, olives, and roasted vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is not essential, though a short aeration can help open up the wine if enjoyed young.
