Mas Doix Doix 2022

Mas Doix Doix 2022 is a striking Priorat red that captures the power and finesse the region is famous for. Made primarily from Garnacha, with old vines rooted in the area’s iconic llicorella slate, it combines concentration, minerality, and elegance in a way that speaks clearly of its terroir. As one of the more characterful expressions from modern Priorat, it reflects both tradition and precision.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark colour that hints at its intensity. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe blackberries, black cherries, dried herbs, liquorice, and subtle spice from the oak. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and structured, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral finish. It has the depth and balance to age beautifully, developing greater complexity over time.

Production
Mas Doix Doix 2022 comes from old-vine Garnacha, with some parcels over 100 years old, grown in Priorat’s steep vineyards on llicorella soils. These slate-rich soils help create the wine’s hallmark concentration, tension, and mineral drive. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before vinification, where extraction is kept gentle and precise to preserve purity and detail. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for around 14 to 16 months, depending on the character of the vintage.

Food & Serving
This is a wine built for flavourful dishes such as grilled beef, lamb, game, slow-cooked meats, and mature cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C to bring out its aromatic depth and polished texture. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the wine to open fully.
