Description

Maria & Sepp Muster Graf Morillon 2021 is a distinctive Chardonnay from the steep, lean parcels around the family estate in Austria’s Südsteiermark. “Graf” recalls the historic name of the centuries-old Muster property; this cuvée is made only from its oldest vines, whose naturally low yields produce particularly concentrated fruit.

Production
The Morillon grapes—Steiermark’s name for Chardonnay—were selectively hand-harvested, destemmed and gently crushed, then pressed slowly over four hours. Fermentation began spontaneously in wooden casks, with no filtration or additives. The wine matured for two years in large wooden casks and was bottled without added sulphur. The fruit comes from the estate’s oldest vines in its most barren parcels, where yields are very low.

Weingut Maria und Sepp Muster is a family estate in Steiermark with roots stretching back centuries; Graf was the property’s original name. The Graf line honours that history by showcasing fruit from the estate’s oldest vines and leanest parcels.
