Description

Margaux 1er Grand Cru Classé 2010 is a benchmark Bordeaux from one of the most celebrated names in the Médoc, offering the refinement, precision, and perfume that make Margaux so admired. From a top vintage that favoured balance and concentration, it combines elegance with impressive depth and age-worthy structure.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep garnet color with evolving ruby highlights. The bouquet is classically Margaux: refined floral notes, cassis, blackberry, cedar, graphite, and subtle spice, with hints of tobacco and earthy complexity as it opens. On the palate, it is polished and layered, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, graceful finish. The 2010 vintage gives extra density and persistence, while the wine’s underlying freshness and structure suggest excellent aging potential for many more years, even decades, in ideal storage.

Production
Produced in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, this wine comes from gravelly terroirs that encourage excellent drainage and help the vines produce small, concentrated berries. Although detailed vinification information is not provided, wines of this class are traditionally hand-harvested and carefully vinified plot by plot to preserve purity, structure, and site expression.

Food & Serving
This wine shines with classic dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, or game with mushroom sauces, as well as mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking now to help the aromatics fully unfold.

Producer
Château Margaux is one of Bordeaux’s most iconic estates and a founding name of the 1855 classification, where it was ranked Premier Grand Cru Classé. Renowned worldwide for producing wines of exceptional elegance and longevity, it has long been considered a reference point for fine Left Bank Bordeaux.
