Description

Marco De Bartoli’s Bukkuram Padre della Vigna is a sweet Zibibbo Passito made on Pantelleria, where sun-dried grapes and the island’s volcanic landscape shape its distinctive character. Produced only in the best vintages, it draws on the island’s long passito tradition and the UNESCO-recognised alberello pantesco vine-training method.

Tasting Notes
The wine is described as intense and elegant, with a harmonious palate balancing sweetness, freshness and a soft, enveloping texture. Its slow maceration with dried grapes brings added depth and complexity. The available information does not specify its appearance or a recommended ageing window.

Production
The grapes come from the Bukkuram district, where old Zibibbo vines grow in volcanic soils and are trained using the low, bush-like alberello pantesco method. Harvest takes place from August to early September. Some bunches are naturally dried for several weeks on racks sheltered by lava-stone walls, while the remaining grapes continue to ripen on the vine. The hand-destemmed dried grapes are added to the fermenting must for a slow maceration of around three months. The wine then ages for more than two years in French oak barrels before finishing in stainless steel tanks.

Food & Serving
Serve at 12–16°C, either as a contemplative wine at the end of a meal or with refined desserts. Dark chocolate is a particularly well-suited match. No specific decanting recommendation is provided.
