Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a lemon-yellow colour with impressive brightness. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit and a subtle sense of complexity that hints at its old-vine origin. The palate is fresh yet generous, with real richness and depth carrying through to a long, textured finish. Its balance and structure suggest good development potential over the next few years, while remaining highly enjoyable now for those who appreciate finely made Douro whites.

Production
This wine comes from Carlão in Cima Corgo, where vines aged around 110 to 130 years grow at 535 metres above sea level on granite-rich soils. The vineyard is a field blend of roughly 20 white varieties, including Gouveio and Viosinho, harvested by hand into 18 kg boxes to preserve fruit quality. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed, the must undergoes cold settling, and fermentation takes place in cask before 12 months of ageing in neutral barrels.

A great match for rich dishes, refined seafood, roast poultry or creamy pasta, as well as intense but clean-flavoured cuisine that can stand up to its texture and depth. Serve at 10–12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short period in the glass can help раскрыe its aromatic complexity.
