Description

Lunae Bosoni’s Numero Chiuso is a rare, structured Vermentino from Colli di Luni, made only in the finest vintages and produced in a limited run of around 2,600 bottles. Sourced from two historic estate vineyards, it offers a more layered, oak-aged expression of Liguria’s signature white grape.

Tasting Notes
The nose opens with ripe peach and apricot, joined by acacia blossom, vanilla and hints of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, the wine is enveloping and flavourful, with lively acidity bringing balance to its ripe fruit and subtle oak-derived spice.

Production
The Vermentino comes from two historic vineyards in Colli di Luni, between the Ligurian coast and the hills around Castelnuovo Magra. A short cold maceration on the skins helps draw out the grape’s aromatic character, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then spends 18 months in large oak casks and a further 18 months resting before release. Harvesting methods are not specified.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, with shellfish, grilled or baked fish, and mild cheeses. Its structure and savoury, mineral finish also suit richer seafood dishes. A brief opening in the glass should be sufficient; decanting is not essential, though a short time in a carafe may help reveal its aromas.
