Le Marchesine’s Franciacorta Rosé Artio Brut Millesimato 2022 is a traditional-method sparkling rosé from Passirano, in the heart of Lombardy. Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a delicate six-hour maceration of the Pinot Noir, it combines precise Brut dryness with a persistent bead and a history dating back to its creation in 1993.
Tasting Notes
Its coral-pink colour is accompanied by a lively, persistent perlage. The nose offers cherry and blueberry alongside bright citrus notes. On the palate, balanced dryness meets an enveloping structure, with small red-fruit and liquorice notes lingering on the finish. The wine spends at least 36 months ageing on its lees, adding complexity; further bottle-ageing potential is not specified.
Production
The grapes come from vineyards in Passirano, Franciacorta. Vines are trained using the double Guyot system and spur-pruned to help keep yields balanced; dense planting is intended to encourage concentration of primary aromas. Grapes are hand-harvested and placed in small crates to preserve the bunches. After gentle pressing, the Pinot Noir must macerates for around six hours before blending with Chardonnay. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness. The wine then undergoes its second fermentation in bottle and matures on the lees for at least 36 months.
Food & Serving
Its Brut style and fresh red-fruit character make it a natural match for roasts, duck and carpaccio. Serve well chilled. No specific decanting recommendation is available; as a sparkling wine, it is generally best poured directly into the glass.

The supplied information describes the cuvée as award-winning, but does not specify particular awards.
