Description

Larmandier-Bernier Longitude Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is a pure, terroir-driven Champagne crafted exclusively from Chardonnay. Sourced from Premier Cru vineyards on the Côte des Blancs, it showcases the estate’s signature precision, finesse, and mineral clarity. As one of the more celebrated grower Champagnes from the region, it reflects both traditional craftsmanship and a modern commitment to vibrant, low-dosage style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright pale gold color with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is elegant and expressive, with notes of citrus, white flowers, green apple, and subtle chalky minerality that speaks to its Côte des Blancs origins. On the palate, it is crisp and textured, balancing zesty lemon, orchard fruit, and a saline, chalk-forward finish with impressive drive and purity. The Extra Brut dosage keeps the profile exceptionally dry and focused, while its concentration and structure suggest it can develop beautifully over the next several years.

Production
Longitude is made entirely from Chardonnay grown in Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, an area prized for its chalk-rich soils and cool climate. Larmandier-Bernier farms organically and biodynamically, with careful hand-harvesting and minimal intervention in the cellar to preserve site expression. Vinification is geared toward clarity and tension, with an emphasis on natural balance and transparency rather than makeup from dosage.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is exceptionally versatile at the table and pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, sashimi, roast chicken, mild cheeses, and delicate seafood dishes. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary. A short rest in the glass can help reveal more of its complexity.

Producer
Larmandier-Bernier is a highly regarded grower-producer based in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, with a long family history in Champagne dating back generations. Under the leadership of Pierre and Sophie Larmandier, the estate has become known for championing organic and biodynamic viticulture and for producing some of the region’s most admired terroir-focused Champagnes. Their wines are especially respected for their purity, energy, and ability to express the chalky finesse of their vineyards.

Absolutely fantastic Blanc de Blancs from Larmandier-Bernier! Everything you could want from a classic BDB: purity, vibrant acidity, underlying minerality, but also a BDB with more density, so it doesn’t end up being just clean and fresh.

A truly lovely glass to start with, or as a pairing for the first fish/shellfish dishes on a menu.

Safe and delightful

Larmandier-Bernier's Longitude is a Blanc de Blancs from the best Grand Cru-classified Chardonnay villages of Vertus, Avize, Oger and Cramant. The chalk lies very close to the surface, thus promoting the wine's very distinctive, linear and fresh-puristic style.
