Description

Labégorce Margaux 2006 is a refined Left Bank Bordeaux from one of Margaux’s most established historic properties. Known for its elegant structure, polished tannins, and classic Margaux character, it offers a beautiful snapshot of the appellation in a balanced vintage.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby core with garnet edging, reflecting its maturity. The nose is expected to be layered and inviting, with notes of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco leaf, dried flowers, and a touch of earthy spice. On the palate, this is a medium-bodied, classically styled Margaux with supple fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a graceful, lingering finish. The 2006 vintage has the structure to continue developing further, though it is already well suited to drinking now with a little air.

Production
Produced in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, the wine comes from gravelly soils that help deliver Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines with freshness, finesse, and aromatic complexity. Harvesting is typically carried out by parcel, with careful selection to preserve fruit quality, followed by traditional vinification designed to emphasize balance, elegance, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based dishes, as well as hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Gouda. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 hour if opening now to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.

Producer
Château Labégorce is a historic estate in Margaux with roots dating back centuries, and it has long been associated with the refined style of the appellation. Today it is recognized for producing elegant, terroir-driven Bordeaux wines that reflect both the classic character of Margaux and the estate’s renewed commitment to quality.
