La Scolca’s Gavi dei Gavi Etichetta Nera is one of Piedmont’s benchmark white wines: a refined, bone-dry Cortese that has long defined the elegance of Gavi DOCG. Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow in the glass, with delicate green reflections, it immediately gives a sense of brightness and precision. The nose is intense and persistent, moving from ripe fruit toward floral notes as it opens, with a subtle flinty streak that adds complexity and lift. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and layered, showing a refined balance of citrus, spice, and the classic almond-and-walnut finish that marks fine Cortese. The wine’s structure and freshness give it very good aging potential for a Gavi, while preserving its signature vibrancy.

Production
Made from 100% Cortese grapes sourced in the Gavi DOCG area of Piedmont, this wine reflects the cool, expressive terroir that has made the denomination famous. Vinification is carried out without skin contact, with cold handling and partial maceration, followed by aging on the lees with native yeasts from the first fermentation until bottling, a method that adds texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
Best served well chilled, around 8–10°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. It pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, sushi, risotto, light pasta dishes, vegetable antipasti, and delicate white meats; decanting is not necessary.
