Production
The grapes for this Westhofener Riesling come exclusively from two of Westhofen’s finest sites: Aulerde and Kirchspiel. Aulerde’s heavier loess soils give the wine its depth, power and a touch of opulence, while Kirchspiel, with its high limestone content, contributes elegance, finesse and a distinct, cool-toned minerality. The vineyards are carefully tended, with selective hand-harvesting to ensure only perfectly ripe and healthy grapes make it to the cellar. In the winery, the fruit is gently pressed and fermented with a focus on preserving purity and site expression, typically in a combination of stainless steel and traditional large vessels, allowing the wine to develop texture and complexity without overt oak influence. The result is a classically styled, dry Rheinhessen Riesling that speaks clearly of its origins.
