Joaquin Piante a Lapio 2019 is a still, 100% Fiano from Montefalcione in Irpinia, Campania, where the grape’s aromatic character meets the region’s distinctive structure. Made by Joaquin Aziende Agricole to express Campania’s historic varieties, it combines depth and freshness with the potential to develop gracefully in bottle.

Tasting Notes
Deep golden yellow in the glass, the wine opens with notes of broom, yellow rose and citrus. With time, its bouquet becomes more complex, revealing white pepper, bay leaf, camphor, honey and mint. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, with notable depth and a long, persistent finish. Careful maturation gives this Fiano the structure to evolve over time. It is expected to age well for around five to ten years from the vintage, developing further complexity in bottle.

Production
The grapes come from Montefalcione in Irpinia, an area known for wines with aromatic precision and firm structure. Specific harvesting methods and vineyard details are not available. In the cellar, the wine is matured for an extended period in wooden barrels, then aged in bottle to bring its fruit and balsamic nuances into harmony.

Food & Serving
Enjoy it with robust seafood dishes, such as monkfish with anchovy sauce, or alongside a selection of cheeses. Serve at 12–14°C and decant for about an hour to allow the wine’s layered aromas to open.
