Description
Jacquesson Cuvée 748 is a precise, terroir-driven Champagne that reflects the house’s elegant, low-intervention style. Known for its emphasis on balance, freshness, and complexity, it stands out as a serious grower-style Champagne with a refined, contemporary edge.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass with a lively, fine mousse, Cuvée 748 opens with aromas of citrus peel, white flowers, orchard fruit, and subtle brioche. Hints of chalk, almond, and saline minerality add depth and lift to the nose. On the palate, it is dry, focused, and beautifully textured, with fresh acidity, layered fruit, and a long, precise finish. This is a Champagne that can be enjoyed now for its tension and energy, but it also has the structure to develop gracefully with a few years of cellaring.
Production
Produced in Champagne, France, Jacquesson’s cuvées are crafted from carefully selected vineyard parcels that highlight the region’s chalk-rich soils and cool climate. The house is known for harvesting ripe fruit by hand and vinifying with a restrained approach that favors transparency and purity, allowing vineyard character to shine through. The result is a Champagne of clarity, depth, and unmistakable regional identity.
Food & Serving
Ideal with oysters, sashimi, shellfish, light white fish, or delicate poultry dishes, Jacquesson Cuvée 748 also pairs beautifully with aged Comté or other hard cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass can help the aromatics open up.
Producer
Jacquesson is one of Champagne’s most respected independent houses, founded in 1798 and known today for its innovative, terroir-focused approach. Under modern stewardship, the estate has built a strong reputation for precision, quality, and consistency, earning acclaim among Champagne enthusiasts for its distinctive cuvées and commitment to expressing site and vintage character.
