Description
Jacquesson Cuvée 743 is a refined non-vintage Champagne that showcases the house’s precise, terroir-driven style with remarkable clarity and depth. Presented in its gift box, it stands out for its elegant structure, mineral character, and the blend of reserve wines that give the cuvée both complexity and harmony. Rooted in one of Champagne’s most respected grower-producer traditions, it reflects Jacquesson’s long-standing commitment to quality over quantity.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Cuvée 743 typically shows a pale golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is layered and expressive, offering notes of white flowers, citrus peel, green apple, toasted brioche, and subtle chalky minerality. On the palate, it is dry, focused, and beautifully textured, balancing freshness with ripe orchard fruit, saline tension, and a long, precise finish.
Its structure suggests excellent drinking now, while the depth from reserve wines and its taut mineral backbone also give it strong short- to medium-term aging potential. With a few years in bottle, the Champagne will gain additional richness, creaminess, and nuance.
Production
Jacquesson sources fruit from carefully selected Champagne vineyards, with a strong emphasis on site expression and quality parcels. The region’s chalky soils and cool continental climate contribute to the wine’s tension, finesse, and signature minerality. As with the house’s cuvées, vinification is handled with great precision to preserve freshness and transparency, while reserve wines are used to build complexity and consistency across the blend.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is a natural match for oysters, shellfish, sashimi, caviar, and delicate white fish, but it is also excellent with roast poultry, creamy risotto, or fine charcuterie. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider brief aeration in the glass rather than decanting, as the wine’s finesse is best enjoyed with minimal handling.
Producer
Jacquesson is one of Champagne’s most highly regarded houses, known for its distinctive, low-intervention approach and focus on vineyard expression. Founded in the early 19th century, the producer has built a strong reputation for crafting cuvées of remarkable precision, depth, and individuality. Under modern stewardship, Jacquesson has become a benchmark for terroir-focused Champagne and is widely admired by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
