Il Borro Borrigiano 2024 is an organic Tuscan red that brings together Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon in a fresh, approachable style. Made at the Ferragamo family’s Il Borro estate in Valdarno di Sopra, it pairs regional character with polished tannins and an easy-drinking balance.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red with violet hues, it opens with ripe cherry and other red-fruit aromas, complemented by white pepper, ginger, lavender and a touch of sweet tobacco. On the palate, lively acidity and smooth, elegant tannins lead to a clean finish with a gentle savoury spice. Its fresh, supple style is suited to enjoying while young; a short period of bottle ageing may allow the flavours to knit together further.

Production
The grapes come from the Il Borro estate in Valdarno di Sopra, near San Giustino Valdarno, where organic principles and sustainable practices guide the vineyard work. Harvesting details are not specified. Fermentation takes place in concrete vats, followed by full malolactic fermentation. The wine matures in large, truncated-conical oak casks, then briefly in stainless steel before finishing with bottle ageing.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C with grilled or roasted red meat, game, traditional Tuscan soups or mature cheeses. A short decant of around 20–30 minutes can help open its fruit and spice; it should not need prolonged aeration.
